Brian called meeting to order

Brian gave a report on the Democratic Convention he attended this past weekend.  A lot of younger people in attendance and all but 2 of the Presidential candidates (Joe Biden, Elizabeth Warren).

Short discussion on what it would mean to our club if we endorsed a candidate at our forum that the Dem party did not endorse.  Brian will speak to Adam Scow at the Endorsement Forum to explain our situation.  Brian is certain we would lose our chartered status as a Democratic club for a year.

Annual Santa Cruz Holiday Parade is on Sunday, Dec. 7.   All members are invited to march.

PDC Holiday Party will be held at the Galleria on Thursday night, December 12.  There will not  be a regular meeting, but we will have a speaker.  Franco will invite author Jill Cody to speak. Refreshments will be provided by the Club; members are also encouraged to bring potluck items.

The PDC was asked to sponsor the Civics Summit to be held at Cabrillo College on January 24, 2020:

"The Democratic Central Committee is partnering with the Santa Cruz County Office of Education and Cabrillo College to offer 450 high school students a unique non-partisan learning experience to deepen their understanding of the local electoral process. On Friday, January 24 students will partake in a full day of learning about the importance of civic engagement and the role of elected officials. The event is only open to high school juniors and seniors who attend a Santa Cruz County high school. Students must be accompanied by their U.S. History/Government/Economics teacher."

For more information, call (831) 466-5900

A sponsorship of $100 was unanimously approved by the Executive Board.
