PDC member, Jaime Garfield submitted the following information about how people can remove their name from the recall petition.  Jaime wrote:

Chris Krohn and Drew Glover are 2 of the 4 person  majority Progressive city council members. There is nothing more that the wealthy business and developer class would love to see than the removal of two of our four person Progressive Majority that we have finally regained. Sure, they both are forceful and perhaps adamant at times in their passion to enact real policy rather than  continue with the ongoing rhetoric and studies that just put off …

PDC EXEC COMMITTEE ZOOM MEETING

October 10, 2020

Attending: Brian, Sandra, Franco, Gail, Nancy, Ed, Judy, Lee, Nora

Meeting started with chit/chat.

The club may want to reach out to Biden's transition team to speak for the support of more progressive initiatives, e.g. The Green New Deal and Medicare for All.  Nora v…

On August 8, 2019, the PDC voted to oppose the recall of Santa Cruz City Councilmen, Drew Glover and Chris Krohn,

The People's Democratic Club resolves against the recall campaign against Santa Cruz City Council members Drew Glover and Chris Krohn.  A recall should only be initiated when there is clear evidence of serious malfeasance in office.  Political disagreement and unsubstantiated accusations are not appropriate grounds for a recall.  Without taking sides on the political positions of Council members Chris Krohn and Drew Glover, we are convinced that there are no legitimate grounds for a recall of these duly elected Council members.

The PEOPLE'S DEMOCRATIC CLUB and SANTA CRUZ FOR BERNIE are presenting a public candidates forum to address 3 races which will appear on the March 3, 2020 ballot.

  • When:  November 19 - TUESDAY
  • Time:   Doors open at 6:00 PM;  Forum beings at 6:30 PM

  • U.S. Representative in Congress 20th District
  • Superior Court Judge Office 1

  • A quorum of 20 PDC members is required and 20 votes must be cast for an official PDC endorsement;
  • PDC members must have been members for at least 60 days immediately precedin…

The Real News interviewed author Thomas Frank about Hillary Clinton's new book that looks back at the 2016 campaign, and they discuss many issues confronting the Democratic party now.

Ro Khanna (D-CA 17th Congressional District) and Nina Turner (D-OH former state senator of Ohio) spoke on a panel on CNN's State of the Union program (Aug 6 2017) regarding the possible candidacy of Kamala Harris (D-CA current junior US senator from California) versus the possible candidacy of Bernie Sanders (I-VT current junior US senator from Vermont) to be the Democratic Party's candidate for US President in 2020.

A slate of union/Sanders activists from every corner of the 29th Assembly District. These people are committed to moving the Democratic Party to the left - starting with electing Kimberley Ellis to the Chair of the California Democratic Party.  To learn more about Kimberley Ellis and why she'll invite more participation by the Democratic membership, watch this video by delegate Erik Eriksen:
