In less than one week, the new
Republican Congress will begin their efforts to dismantle America's health care
system. Their goal is to take away health insurance from tens of millions of

prescription drug prices and defund Planned Parenthood. At the same time, in
the midst of a grotesque and growing level of income and wealth inequality,
they want obscene tax breaks for the top one-tenth of 1 percent.
As we enter the new year, our message to the Republicans is simple and straight forward. You are not going to get away with it. You are not going to punish the elderly, disabled veterans, the children, the sick and the poor while you reward your billionaire friends.
Stopping this Republican assault on…

Fruit Tree Lovers,
Great news: on Saturday, February 4th, we'll be planting an orchard at Mike Fox Park, which is located alongside the San Lorenzo River by the Riverside Ave bridge. Please join us at 12pm for a ground-breaking ceremony, after which we'll split up into teams to plant the trees. In case of heavy rain, or if the soil is saturated from prior days of rain, the tree-planting will be delayed until the following Saturday, February 11th.
In addition to your help swinging a shovel or a pick axe, we also need your donations to make this orchard possible. As a volunteer-run, community-funded organization, we can't buy the trees, gopher baskets, soil amendments, and other supplies and equipment without your help. Whether you have $20 or $200, please giv…
