After several years of political action, Santa Cruz County sheriff's office has finally agreed to stop using our jail to detain immigrants for deportation unless there is a federal warrant and conviction for a serious crime. We are working collaboratively with Sheriff-elect Jim Hart to monitor the implementation of this new and improved policy.

English language training is offered Wednesday Sept 17 at 6 pm in the Pajaro Valley High School library. Spanish language training is offered Wednesday Sept 24 at 6 pm at the Day Worker Center, 2261 7th Ave in Live Oak. Spanish and English language materials will be available at both events.
